What this site is
Gold Standard Living is an independent interiors publication and a small workshop collective working out of Newtown, Johannesburg. There are no user accounts here, no payments, no bookings held in a system, no uploads, no live comments and no automated replies. The editorial pieces on restoration, fabric choice, small-space planning and second-hand sourcing are written for general reading.
The only form on the site
One form exists, and it lives on the contact page. It asks for your first name, your email address, an optional phone number, the session you are interested in, optional notes about your piece or room, and an optional tick if you want the free room-measuring checklist. Nothing else is requested, and the form does not create an account or a stored profile.
What gets recorded
When you send the form, the handler writes the submitted values to a local log file at /private/submissions.jsonl. Alongside your answers it records the submission time, the form identifier, the page language and the source GET query string from the URL you arrived on. This log stays on the site's own storage. There is no email service, no CRM, no payment processor and no third-party analytics attached to it.
How long it is kept
There is no automatic deletion schedule. Entries remain in the log until the site owner removes them by hand. If you would like your entry cleared, say so in your message and it will be deleted manually once the request is read.
Your rights over your information
You can ask to see what is held about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, receive a copy in a portable format, or withdraw any consent you gave when submitting the form. Visitors in the EU and California have these rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively, and the same requests are honoured for anyone who writes in. Send the request through the contact form and it will be handled manually.
Links to other pages
Some articles point to outside pages for reference. Those sites run under their own privacy rules, and this policy does not cover what they collect or how they use it. Check their notices before sending anything to them.
Honest claims only
This publication does not use misleading statements, invented urgency, fake endorsements or borrowed brand names. Nothing here claims an official affiliation or a guaranteed outcome that has not been verified. If something in the editorial content is wrong, write in and it will be corrected.
Questions about this policy, or privacy requests of any kind, go through the contact form. You can also reach the workshop directly at
